The field of transportation deals with the movement of people and goods through space and time. Using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies, GeoStats offers highly-specialized consulting and technology services for transportation projects that require the collection and analysis of accurate spatial and temporal data.

GeoStats uses GPS technology to collect second-by-second date, time, position, heading, and speed data in a variety of transportation studies that require detailed information on motorized and personal (ie., pedestrian and bicycle based) travel.

Once data collection is complete, GeoStats processes and analyses these micro-scale data within a GIS environment to answer questions regarding traveler behavior, network performance, trip origins and destinations, travel paths and modes, travel speeds and times, and trip purposes.
